Overview

As a Senior Quantity Surveyor in Leeds, you will lead the commercial management of multiple construction projects within a growing business. You will partner with operational teams, clients and the supply chain from pre-construction through to completion to drive cost control and financial performance. You will manage budgets, procure subcontractors, handle valuations and contract administration, and provide commercial guidance across projects. This role offers ownership of larger, more complex schemes and opportunities to mentor junior team members. You will work closely with senior stakeholders to shape outcomes and mitigate cost risks.

Responsibilities

  • Manage project costs, budgets and financial forecasts
  • Procurement and management of subcontractors from tender to completion
  • Valuations, payments and subcontract accounts management
  • Prepare and submit valuations; monitor financial performance
  • Manage variations, change and contractual requirements
  • Tendering and negotiating packages and contracts
  • Produce commercial reports and present financial information to stakeholders
  • Support and develop junior members of the commercial team

Key requirements

  • Minimum 5 years of experience as a Quantity Surveyor
  • Strong construction industry experience
  • Experience managing the commercial side of multiple projects
  • Good knowledge of subcontract and main contract management
  • Experience with JCT, NEC or equivalent contracts
  • Procurement, valuation, forecasting and cost-control experience
  • Strong negotiation and analytical skills
  • Strong communication skills with clients, contractors and internal teams
  • HND, degree or equivalent qualification in Quantity Surveying or related discipline
  • Valid UK driving licence
