In this role you will manage a varied portfolio of high-value residential property matters in Bournemouth, handling complex conveyancing from instruction to post-completion. You will lead and mentor junior fee earners while supporting business development and department growth. The position combines technical property law work with client-facing responsibilities and adherence to regulatory standards. Responsibilities
- Manage a full caseload of residential property matters, including high-value transactions
- Handle complex transactions with minimal supervision and meet billing targets
- Draft and negotiate legal documentation
- Conduct Land Registry and post-completion formalities
- Provide guidance, mentoring and supervision to junior fee earners
- Carry out legal research and stay updated on changes in law
- Maintain files per SRA, Law Society Conveyancing Protocol, CQS, LEXCEL and internal procedures
- Maintain clear client and third-party communication
- Assist with billing, financial administration and business development
- Contribute to marketing activity and content creation for internal/external publication
- Open, close and archive files according to firm procedures
Key requirements
- 10+ years’ PQE or equivalent residential conveyancing experience
- Extensive knowledge of residential conveyancing processes and property law
- Strong understanding of the Bournemouth and Dorset property market
- Excellent organisational and caseload management skills
- Strong leadership, mentoring and supervisory abilities
- Exceptional client care and communication skills
- Strong drafting, negotiation and technical legal skills
- Commercial awareness and ability to support business development
