Overview

As Product Manager for the Observability and Incident Management Team, you will steer the culture and roadmap for how colleagues interact with observability data and AI-enabled reliability. You will partner with stakeholders to influence technical and cultural strategy across channels, delivering data-driven decisions that impact customers, colleagues, and the Tesco brand. You will enable faster detection, diagnosis and resolution of incidents while reducing toil and cost through AI. This role offers a concrete impact on delivering reliable services that support groceries delivery and exceptional experiences.

Responsibilities

  • Engage with stakeholders and Lead Product Manager to shape AI-assisted strategy and long-term roadmap, managing expectations across multiple products/teams
  • Identify user personas, customers, and stakeholders and their pain points
  • Document and explain new requirements to engineering using user stories, personas, and acceptance tests; break down complex work into deliverable chunks
  • Steer sprint and release planning with delivery partners to maximise business value with efficient effort
  • Lead discovery for MVPs of new products/features, collaborating with delivery teams to prototype and validate
  • Drive experiments and data-driven decisions on product improvements and impact on performance indicators

Key requirements

  • Collaboration and cross-functional alignment across engineering, operations, product and leadership
  • Ability to mediate conflicting priorities and drive consensus
  • User-centric approach with empathy for end users (developers, operators)
  • Change management experience introducing new processes, concepts and tools
  • Ability to drive adoption of observability practices within the organization
  • Influence and advocacy as a champion for observability and proactive reliability
  • Understanding of observability concepts (logs, metrics, traces) and distributed systems
  • Hands-on experience with tools like New Relic, Splunk, Grafana, Open Telemetry
  • Software development lifecycle, CI/CD and DevOps familiarity; APIs and backend apps
  • Data analysis with ability to interpret patterns and anomalies
  • Knowledge of AI concepts, LLMs, agentic AI; experience scaling AI-driven products
  • Minimum 2 years of Product Management experience
  • Technical education in computer science, engineering or equivalent experience
  • Proven ability to work on unstructured problems, run experiments, and analyse results
