Overview
In this role you drive operational engineering leadership to improve equipment reliability and maintenance systems across the section. You’ll partner with Cell Leads, Technical Leads, and Shift Technicians to optimize safety, quality, and waste performance while controlling costs. You will plan and execute maintenance strategies, manage outages, and lead continuous improvement initiatives. This is a hands-on, cross-functional role shaping how maintenance supports large-scale production in a global snacks company.
Responsibilities
- Lead and own cell safety programs (Equipment/Process/Contractor Safety, permits, and workshop management)
- Develop and refine preventive maintenance plans (AM/PM schedules) and SMPs
- Conduct equipment criticality assessments and establish optimized maintenance strategies
- Coordinate maintenance plans with Cell Lead/Technical Lead; manage tasks, resources, and external contractors
- Plan significant outages, rebuilds, and re-life activities
- Participate in PM Pillar initiatives and IL6S tooling to drive performance
- Maintain up-to-date technical documentation and manage equipment obsolescence
- Manage M&R spend and support CAPEX proposals
- Support BD&E on new equipment and product projects with phased ramp-up
- Coach engineers and apprentices; provide hands-on technical support to PM Technicians
- Collaborate with Operations, Quality, EHS, Planning, Warehouse, and HR to align on impact and improvements
- Share best practices with other sections/sites and implement improvements
Key requirements
- Strong technical knowledge across site processes and lines
- Engineering degree or equivalent in engineering subject
- Excellent analytical skills
- Safety-focused culture
- Experience with condition-based monitoring technology (desirable)
- Proven ability to drive continuous improvement and operational changes
- Strong on-floor leadership and collaboration across teams
- Proven problem-solving and coaching abilities (BDA/RCA/DMAIC/FMEA)
