As a Senior Procurement Consultant, you will lead procurement activity on a major nuclear sector programme, shaping strategies and documentation. You’ll work with commercial, technical, legal and project teams to secure value for money and robust contracts. The role combines strategic sourcing with hands-on tender management across a complex programme, within a flexible, supportive consultancy environment. Responsibilities
- Support compliant sourcing across a major programme from early market engagement to contract award
- Develop and manage procurement documentation: strategies, scopes of work, tender packs, evaluation criteria, contract data, award recommendations
- Manage tender processes in line with UK public procurement regulations, frameworks and governance
- Evaluate supplier submissions, coordinate moderation, and prepare evaluation and recommendation reports
- Support NEC-based procurement and contract administration aligned to programme requirements
- Engage with stakeholders across commercial, technical, legal and project teams to shape procurement routes
- Support supplier engagement and relationship management to build a capable supply chain
- Contribute to value for money and commercial outcomes through procurement planning and delivery
- Identify and manage procurement risks, opportunities and dependencies, escalating issues when required
- Work as part of a multidisciplinary team across infrastructure, construction, defence or public sector programmes
- Ensure procurement activity is transparent and compliant with policies and governance
- Produce procurement reports, tender documents, stakeholder updates and contract award materials
Key requirements
- Experience in construction/infrastructure/major projects with procurement, sourcing, supplier management or contract administration
- Strong understanding of the full sourcing lifecycle (market engagement through contract award)
- Excellent written and verbal communication with stakeholders and multidisciplinary teams
- Methodical, commercially aware with problem-solving and value-for-money focus
- Experience with NEC forms of contract and contract administration
- Familiarity with UK public procurement regulations and public sector frameworks
- Desirable professional qualifications or membership (CIPS, RICS, CIOB, APM)
