Software Engineer

Overview

In this AI-first backend role, you will own a high-throughput real-time data engine, building with C#/.NET on Azure. You’ll work within a small, high-performing product team to optimise architecture, performance, and resilience for real-time analytics used in energy trading. You’ll collaborate across engineering disciplines, adopting AI-assisted workflows to accelerate delivery. Pay / Benefits

• Salary up to 65,000
• Hybrid working with 2 days in London or Edinburgh

Responsibilities

• Evolve the platform architecture to improve performance, scalability and resilience
• Own technical design decisions and contribute across the full development lifecycle
• Champion engineering best practices, maintainable code, and solid documentation
• Support cloud operations on Microsoft Azure (App Services, CI/CD pipelines, Azure Front Door)
• Stay current with AI-assisted development tools and agentic workflows
• Develop in C#, .NET, and Azure for real-time data analytics

Key requirements

• Strong C# and .NET expertise with a track record of high-performance, real-time systems
• Solid database experience
• Experience with AI-assisted coding tools and agentic workflows
• Background within trading platforms
• Familiarity with Agile environments and collaborative code reviews
• Git and Azure DevOps knowledge
• Strong communication skills to translate technical detail for non-technical audiences
