Overview

In this role you will support the Head of Technical and the wider business by delivering accurate architectural and technical information for construction projects. You will manage the technical team to ensure day-to-day tasks are completed on time and coordinate with Construction, Commercial and Sales teams. Your work will cover land assessment, planning, design coordination, NHBC approvals and post-construction support. You will operate in a fast-paced, collaborative environment focused on practical, economical design solutions and timely project delivery. Responsibilities

  • Support Head of Technical/Technical Director with managerial issues and reporting
  • Lead regular design team meetings early in development with consultants
  • Oversee production of working drawings ensuring completeness, coherence, accuracy and timeliness
  • Provide technical support across land buying, planning, sales, construction and post-construction
  • Review new site information and assess planning/building regulation implications
  • Agree programmes and detail packages with consultants and ensure alignment with procurement
  • Brief consultants on drawing distribution and key dates; ensure changes post-permission are communicated as minor amendments
  • Ensure NHBC approvals are obtained and fees/building control charges are managed

Key requirements

  • Experience as Technical Manager/Senior technical role in a volume housebuilder
  • Proven track record of managing a high-performing team
  • HNC/HND in a building related topic
  • CSCS card or equivalent
  • Current full UK driving licence
  • Strong communication, attention to detail, and organisational skills
  • Ability to work independently and under pressure
  • Proficient IT skills and familiarity with Microsoft Office
