Overview

In this role you drive the end-to-end delivery of breakthrough innovation projects within United Utilities’ Innovation & Transformation team. You will manage projects from mobilisation through to closure, balancing time, cost and quality while engaging regulators, grant bodies, and cross-company partners. You will champion new ways of working, apply agile methods, and ensure innovations scale across the business to deliver environmental and customer benefits. This is a chance to shape how the organisation adopts cutting-edge solutions and collaborates across sectors.

Responsibilities

  • Manage a portfolio of high-profile breakthrough innovation projects to time, cost and quality targets
  • Mobilise and deliver early-stage innovation projects with agile approaches
  • Provide regular performance reporting to Ofwat and other key organisations
  • Coordinate cross-disciplinary teams including external partners to deliver project scope
  • Establish commercial contracts for trials and roll-outs
  • Maintain stakeholder relationships across internal teams, regulators and grant bodies
  • Produce regular reports on risks, opportunities and trial results; support auditors and regulators
  • Lead and influence through standardisation and collaboration across the business

Key requirements

  • Degree qualified
  • Experience delivering projects in a technical/engineering environment
  • APM PMQ or equivalent (qualified or in progress)
  • Strong project coordination, reporting and financial management experience
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Relationship building and delivery focus, including working through others
  • Experience in workload prioritisation and managing sensitive projects
  • Full UK/EU driving licence
