Overview
In this role you will lead the brokerage service at the heart of Adult Social Care, ensuring high-quality, person-centred care while shaping commissioning and supplier management. You will collaborate with social workers, health partners, and providers to deliver outcomes that promote independence and dignity. The role focuses on market management, continuous improvement, and delivering value for money to support sustainable care provision. Responsibilities
- Lead and develop a brokerage service within adult social care
- Drive commissioning, procurement and supplier management to secure value and quality
- Build strong partnerships with social workers, health colleagues, care providers and commissioners
- Ensure safeguarding, quality assurance and regulatory standards are met
- Use data and financial insight to support decision-making and reporting
- Support hospital discharge pathways and person-centred care planning
- Lead continuous improvement and teams to deliver service improvements and cost efficiencies
- Manage budgets and monitor performance against value-for-money targets
Key requirements
- Degree-level qualification or equivalent experience
- Significant experience in brokerage, commissioning, procurement or supplier management in health or social care
- Strong leadership and people management skills
- Excellent negotiation, relationship-building and stakeholder management
- Analytical, financial and reporting skills with data-driven decision making
- Experience of working with social workers, health partners and care providers
- Experience of managing budgets and delivering value for money
- Knowledge of safeguarding, quality assurance, and relevant legislation
