Overview

In this role, you will handle a dedicated caseload in Court of Protection Health & Welfare matters, advising vulnerable individuals and families. You will work with a national Public Law & Human Rights team, receiving strong supervision and opportunities to develop advocacy skills. The work focuses on safeguarding rights, capacity issues, and best interests decisions in high-impact cases. You will contribute to compassionate client care while managing sensitive, complex matters and collaborating across specialists. Responsibilities

  • Manage a caseload of Court of Protection Health & Welfare matters
  • Handle capacity disputes, best interests applications, and safeguarding matters
  • Support vulnerable adults with complex needs and their families
  • Advise and collaborate with senior specialists across the national team
  • Develop advocacy skills through high-quality, sensitive cases

Key requirements

  • NQ-4 years’ PQE
  • Experience in Court of Protection Health & Welfare matters
  • Understanding of the Mental Capacity Act and deprivation of liberty issues
  • Experience working with vulnerable adults and support networks
  • Empathy and professionalism in handling sensitive cases
  • Advocacy experience or willingness to develop advocacy skills
