Overview
In this role you will design and oversee counter-terrorism security strategies to protect sites and events. You will collaborate with internal teams and external partners to assess threats, develop security plans, and test readiness through exercises. You will advise senior leadership on security posture and ensure compliance with Martyn’s Law and related legislation. This position combines strategic planning, incident coordination, and hands-on leadership to build a resilient security program.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement comprehensive counter-terrorism security plans for sites and events to mitigate identified risks
- Lead the creation of Protect Duty frameworks and ensure compliance with Martyn’s Law
- Conduct threat, risk & vulnerability assessments across infrastructure and locations
- Collaborate with intelligence hubs to analyse threat data for informed decision-making
- Coordinate incident response plans for tenants and sites and support operations during emergencies
- Assist in managing security personnel and deployments; support on-site operations as needed
- Maintain relationships with internal stakeholders, police, intelligence agencies, and emergency services
- Ensure adherence to security policies, procedures and legal obligations including emerging legislation
- Develop and deliver a structured CT training and exercising programme (ACT Awareness, SCaN, Behavioural Detection, Crisis & Incident Management)
- Lead tabletop and live exercises to test readiness
- Promote a security-aware culture across the organization
- Provide operational support in day-to-day security tasks as required
Key requirements
- Extensive experience in policing, military, or security management with a strong CT and protective security background
- In-depth understanding of current threat landscapes, security technologies, and mitigation strategies
- Strong analytical ability to interpret intelligence and risk data for strategic decisions
- Proven leadership in managing multidisciplinary security teams
- Excellent written and verbal communication with senior stakeholders and external partners
- Relevant security management certifications advantageous; equivalence from military/policing backgrounds considered
- Willingness to travel across the UK and Northern Europe
