Quality Systems Engineer

£50,000 – £60,000 Per Annum + Excellent Benefits!


We at JKR are supporting a growing manufacturer and distributor of specialist construction products, with a strong international presence and a focus on innovation!


The QMS Engineer Role:



  • Develop, maintain and improve the company’s QMS, supporting customer requirements and regulatory compliance

  • Create and update process documentation, standard operating procedures (SOPs) and quality manuals in line with global construction industry regulatory frameworks

  • Lead internal audits and host external certification bodies, ensuring teams follow documented processes

  • Investigate system failures and non-conformances using root-cause analysis tools such as 8D, Fishbone and 5 Whys

  • Manage corrective and preventive actions (CAPA), implementing lasting fixes and checking their effectiveness

  • Apply Lean and Six Sigma methods to reduce operational waste, prevent defects and improve quality processes

  • Train employees across departments on QMS policies, compliance requirements and quality best practices

  • Monitor CAPA closure times and rates, recurring non-conformances, layered process audit (LPA) adherence, right-first-time (RFT) performance and non-conformance report (NCR) rates

  • Work across departments and with internal and external stakeholders to support consistent processes and continuous improvement

  • Comply with company Health, Safety and Environmental policies


QMS Engineer Ideal Candidate:



  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quality Management or a related technical discipline

  • 3–5+ years’ experience within quality assurance, manufacturing or engineering

  • Strong familiarity with quality frameworks including ISO 9001, ISO 14001, AS9100 and IATF 16949

  • Strong knowledge of Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP), Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) and Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (FMEA)

  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and practical experience using root-cause analysis tools such as 8D, Fishbone and 5 Whys

  • Knowledge of quality and business systems, measurement methods, engineering drawings and manufacturing processes

  • Clear technical writing, communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to influence internal and external stakeholders

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, attention to detail, effective planning and the ability to present data clearly

  • Able to work independently and as part of a team, with an understanding of the cost and financial impacts of quality decisions


QMS Engineer Working Hours & Benefits:



  • Full time, 8:00am–5:00pm Monday to Friday, with scope for flexibility
