Business Development Manager – North (Assistive Technology)

  • Win new business for technology that helps people live more independently
  • Field-based role covering the North
  • Up to £60,000 basic, £15,000 uncapped OTE, annual bonus and company car

The role: A long-established UK manufacturer of assistive technology and telecare is growing its sales team and needs a Business Development Manager to cover the North. Your focus will be winning new capital sales, then keeping that business. You will sell environmental control systems that let users manage their doors, switches, blinds and intercom, alongside telecare products and newer innovative solutions in the pipeline.

You will work with care home managers, clinical leads and estates teams, local authority assistive technology teams and NHS services on projects lasting from one month to a year. Installation, technical and engineering teams, plus a product specialist.

Location: Field-based across the North (limited activity in Scotland). Ideally you will live along the M62 corridor.

Candidate requirements

  • Proven field sales experience, ideally around five years, with a medical devices background – the product itself can vary
  • Experience selling into care settings such as care homes, the NHS, local authorities or care services
  • Confident managing multiple stakeholders through a solution sale
  • Understanding of local government procurement
  • Resilient, self-motivated and driven by new business

Package

  • £50,000-£55,000 basic salary, with flexibility up to £60,000 for the right person
  • £15,000 uncapped OTE, paid quarterly
  • Annual bonus of up to 25% of salary
  • Company car (BYD or your choice) and fuel card
  • Healthcare, pension, laptop, mobile phone and company credit card
  • 23 days holiday plus 3 days at Christmas, rising with service

The company: An independent UK manufacturer and distributor with decades of experience in assistive technology and telecare, helping disabled and older people live safely and independently. The business has a friendly, non-corporate culture, competes well against much larger names, and offers real scope for promotion as the new team grows.

This client is an equal opportunity employer and welcomes applications from all suitably qualified candidates.
