The below job description will outline this position of: Production / Assembly Operative

Typically, this person will be a hands‑on and reliable individual responsible for the build, testing and inspection of sub‑assemblies within a busy manufacturing environment. This is a very manual role, requiring the successful candidate to be on their feet for approximately 8 hours per day, regularly lifting, moving and handling materials and components.

Duties and responsibilities of the Production / Assembly Operative will be:

  • Assist in the manufacture and assembly of sub-assemblies as directed by the Cell Leader / Logistics Manager
  • Carry out assembly duties in a timely and organised manner in line with production schedules
  • Build, test and inspect sub-assemblies to the required quality standards
  • Follow work instructions, procedures and production requirements accurately
  • Assist in other areas of the manufacturing process when required
  • Use conventional workshop power tools and hand tools safely and effectively
  • Maintain a clean and tidy workstation, including tools, equipment and PPE
  • Ensure all work is completed to a high standard of workmanship and quality
  • Strictly adhere to company Health & Safety policies and procedures
  • Carry out any other reasonable duties as required by senior management

Qualifications and requirements for the Production / Assembly Operative:

  • Good standard of general education
  • General understanding and appreciation of conventional workshop power and hand tools
  • Ability to read basic drawings would be advantageous
  • Ability to follow written work instructions and procedures
  • Comfortable working in a physically demanding, hands‑on environment
  • Able to remain on their feet for extended periods throughout the working day
  • Comfortable with regular lifting, moving and handling of materials and components
  • Good attention to detail and commitment to quality
  • Self‑motivated with the ability to work using own initiative
  • Good problem-solving skillsGood communication skills
  • Well organised with the ability to prioritise workload
  • Strong work ethic and reliable approach
  • Positive, can‑do attitude
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team

Working Hours & Package:

  • Permanent position
  • Full‑time manufacturing / production environment
  • Approximately 8 hours per day on your feet
  • Manual handling and regular lifting / moving of materials required
  • Training provided on company processes and procedures
