A.C Waste and Removals is looking for a reliable, hard-working, and professional Van Driver to join our team.
This is a physical, customer-facing role involving furniture and household collections and deliveries. The successful candidate will be responsible for completing daily jobs safely, efficiently, and professionally while delivering a high standard of customer service.
This role would suit someone who is confident driving a Luton van, enjoys active work, works well under pressure, and takes pride in representing the company in a professional manner.
Drive a Luton van for daily collections and deliveries.
Complete planned jobs safely and efficiently in line with the daily workload.
Work closely with the driver’s mate to complete collections and deliveries.
Make sure all items are loaded correctly and secured safely.
Carry out work in line with road traffic law, road safety standards, and company procedures.
Complete all required paperwork, records, and timesheets.
Check that the van and equipment are kept in good working order and report any defects, damage, or issues promptly.
Provide a high level of customer service at all times.
Communicate professionally with customers, colleagues, and management.
Represent the business positively on every job.
Working pattern
We operate a 6-day-a-week service. You will normally work 5 days per week, with 1 flexible day off, depending on the rota and the needs of the business.
Working hours will usually fall between 7:00 am and 5:30 pm, although earlier starts, later finishes, overtime, and some weekend work may be required depending on workload and location.
This is a physically demanding role.
The role involves regular lifting, loading, and unloading of furniture and household items.
The driver is responsible for following company rules and safe working procedures at all times.
Any driving-related fines, penalties, or charges for which the driver is responsible may be passed on to them.
Damage caused through negligence, carelessness, misconduct, or breach of company procedures may be recovered up to the relevant insurance excess, where permitted by law.
Holiday entitlement is 28 days including bank holidays.
