The Opportunity

Lead projects. Shape infrastructure. Keep the operation moving.

We are looking for an experienced Depot Infrastructure Project Manager to help deliver the technology infrastructure that keeps a major logistics network connected, operational and ready for the future.

This is a hands on project delivery role where you will take ownership of infrastructure initiatives across the depot network, from new site openings and office fit outs to technology refreshes and infrastructure upgrades.

You will work at the intersection of technology, project delivery and operations, coordinating internal teams, operational stakeholders, engineers, contractors and technology partners to turn designs into fully operational sites.

In this pivotal role, you will need enough technical knowledge to do more than manage a project plan. You will be expected to challenge designs, interrogate vendor proposals, make informed technical decisions and resolve delivery issues while keeping projects on time, on budget and with minimal disruption to 24/7 logistics operations.

What you’ll be doing

As the Depot Infrastructure Project Manager, you will manage infrastructure projects through to completion from initial design and site surveys through implementation, testing, and operational handover. You will be responsible for:

  • Manage depot infrastructure projects from design through to operational handover, controlling scope, budget, timelines, dependencies and risk.
  • Deliver new depot openings, upgrades, fit outs, relocations and infrastructure refresh programmes.
  • Coordinate networking, LAN/WAN, Wi-Fi, structured cabling, telecommunications and communications room infrastructure.
  • Lead delivery through internal teams, engineers, vendors and contractors, ensuring quality, cost and performance targets are met.
  • Review technical designs, installations and vendor proposals, resolving technical and delivery issues where required.
  • Ensure infrastructure meets required standards for security, resilience, performance and availability.
  • Support warehouse technology, including handheld terminals, operational printers and end-user technology deployments.
  • Ensure technology is correctly integrated with the underlying network and wireless infrastructure.
  • Keep operational stakeholders informed and aligned throughout project delivery.
  • Collaborate with the wider Project Management team, sharing standards, best practice and lessons learned.
  • Ensure all projects comply with IT security, governance and Health & Safety requirements.

What we’re looking for

We are looking for a Project Manager who is comfortable operating in a technical infrastructure environment and can confidently engage with engineers, vendors and operational teams. You will be able to demonstrate:

  • Proven experience delivering IT infrastructure projects within logistics, warehousing, distribution or similar operational environments.
  • Experience delivering infrastructure for new sites, fit outs, relocations and upgrades.
  • Strong practical knowledge of LAN/WAN, Wi-Fi, structured cabling, telecommunications and communications room infrastructure.
  • Technical ability to review designs, challenge vendor proposals and resolve delivery issues.
  • Experience delivering infrastructure in operational environments through engineering or technical project delivery.
  • Proven experience managing vendors, contractors and suppliers, alongside multiple workstreams, priorities and dependencies.
  • Strong technical and project documentation skills.
  • Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel regularly across UK and Ireland.
  • Experience within supply chain, logistics or distribution operations.
  • Knowledge of warehouse technology environments, including handheld terminals and operational printers.
  • Experience with Extreme Networks, Cisco or equivalent networking technologies.
  • A recognised project management qualification such as PRINCE2, APM or PMP.

Bring your project expertise. Bring your technical understanding. Help build the infrastructure behind the operation.
