£85,000 – £95,000 + Package | Stansted | Site-Based
We are currently recruiting for an experienced Quantity Surveyor / Senior Quantity Surveyor to join an established and highly respected construction and fit-out contractor delivering complex projects across the UK. With more than 30 years of industry experience, the business has built a strong reputation for delivering technically demanding projects within specialist commercial and operational environments. This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially strong Quantity Surveyor to join a growing team working on high-value construction and fit-out projects in Stansted, with significant M&E elements and multiple subcontractor packages. The business is looking for someone with the experience and commercial capability to take ownership of their projects and play a key role in their successful delivery.
The Role
As a Quantity Surveyor / Senior Quantity Surveyor, you’ll take commercial responsibility for projects from pre-construction through to final account. You’ll work closely with the Project Management and site teams, clients, consultants, subcontractors and suppliers to ensure projects are delivered commercially and efficiently. You’ll be involved across the full commercial lifecycle, including procurement, cost control, valuations, variations, applications, payments, forecasting and final accounts. This is a role suited to someone who enjoys being close to the project and wants genuine responsibility rather than simply managing a small section of the commercial process.
Key Responsibilities
Take commercial ownership of projects from pre-construction through to completionManage project budgets, costs and forecastsPrepare and manage valuations, applications and paymentsManage variations, change control and commercial riskProcure and manage subcontractor packagesNegotiate with subcontractors and suppliersMonitor project costs against budgetProduce accurate financial reporting and forecastingManage commercial correspondence and contractual mattersPrepare, negotiate and agree final accountsWork closely with Project Managers and site teamsBuild strong relationships with clients, consultants and supply chain partnersIdentify and manage commercial risks and opportunities

You’ll Need
Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor or Senior Quantity SurveyorStrong construction and/or fit-out backgroundExperience working on M&E-heavy projectsStrong commercial and contractual knowledgeExperience managing subcontractor accountsStrong procurement and negotiation skillsExperience with valuations, variations and final accountsExcellent cost control and forecasting abilityStrong stakeholder and client management skillsExcellent attention to detailThe confidence to take ownership of commercial performance
