Overview

In this role you will support vulnerable clients within the Care & Capacity remit, handling a varied private client caseload focused on mental capacity, LPA and deputyship matters. You will work closely with healthcare professionals, social services and other agencies to provide clear, practical advice and strong representation in Court of Protection proceedings. The position offers a collaborative, forward-thinking environment with opportunities for professional development and impact on client care and safeguarding. Responsibilities

  • Advise on mental capacity law for clients and families
  • Prepare and advise on Lasting Powers of Attorney and Deputyship applications
  • Represent clients in Court of Protection proceedings
  • Manage complex health, welfare, and financial matters with safeguarding considerations
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals, social services, and other agencies
  • Draft legal documents and provide clear, practical advice
  • Stay updated on legislation, case law, and best practice

Key requirements

  • Qualified solicitor or legal executive
  • Experience in private client work, especially care and capacity
  • Strong understanding of Court of Protection processes
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
