Senior Site Engineer

Overview

As Senior Site Engineer in Murphy’s Energy Team, you will lead site execution on the ETP Project in Cardiff, focusing on safety, quality and delivery. You work closely with clients, designers and the supply chain to ensure clear information flow and compliant construction. You will implement safe working practices, oversee temporary works and risk controls, and maintain comprehensive site records. This role offers hands-on impact on major energy projects within a culture of innovation and learning. Responsibilities

• Establish and promote best practice in health, safety and environmental matters with the SHQE department
• Assist with temporary works design schemes
• Maintain good working relations with client, designer, team and supply chain
• Advise engineers on setting out methods and techniques
• Ensure drawings and specifications contain sufficient information for construction
• Request missing information in time to support the programme
• Communicate with foremen and supervisors to ensure clarity of information
• Oversee selection and requisition of materials and plant for construction
• Prepare risk assessments and method statements for control of works
• Maintain a full daily site diary with changes, subcontractors and discussions
• Ensure ITPs are completed as required by PMP/Specification, including dimension and quality checks

Key requirements

• Experience in Construction or Civil Engineering projects
• Experience within ITPs, RAMs & Temporary Works
• Knowledge of civil engineering legislation and Health & Safety and Environmental legislation
• Ability to discuss engineering issues across levels and disciplines
• Ability to produce and manage safe systems of work for construction procedures
