Overview

In this role you drive automation and integration for SPTS process systems used in semiconductor fabrication. You collaborate within a multi-disciplinary team to design, test, and optimize hardware for Alpha & Beta systems and customer deployments. You will build prototypes, validate hardware, and ensure compliance while supporting technology development from concept to site installation. This position offers exposure to cross‑border projects in a regulated industry and a path to impact advanced wafer processing solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement ETCH semiconductor process equipment
  • Wiring harness and electrical design, with some mechanical design
  • Lead or heavily participate in building and testing prototypes
  • Plan and execute hardware testing, validation, and performance characterization
  • Test and ensure compliance of machines to international standards
  • Fault finding and optimization within PLC processes
  • Support technology development programs from concept to installation at customer sites
  • Collaborate with process engineers to optimise hardware reliability and process capability
  • Prepare technical reports
  • Assist in transitioning designs from development to production

Key requirements

  • Experience designing, testing, and delivering electrical solutions
  • Experience with fault diagnosis
  • RF and/or plasma experience desired
  • Minimum HNC Electrical/ Mechanical/ Mechatronics or related field with customer-facing experience
  • Understanding of Machinery safety regulations and EN60204, EN13849 desired
  • AutoCAD Electrical or equivalent experience
  • 3D CAD experience desired
