Overview
In this role you will take ownership of the corporate trust professional services business’s finance function, delivering accurate monthly reporting, robust controls and insightful MI. You will work closely with a small, ambitious Finance team and cross‑functional partners to drive process improvements, IFRS 15 review, and year‑end reporting. The role combines hands‑on accounting, system development with Sage Intacct, and liaison with the Big‑4 auditors to support growth and governance. This is a chance to shape scalable finance processes at Law Debenture while working in a collaborative, high‑trust culture.
Responsibilities
- Own month‑end close and reporting for assigned business line (Sage Intacct)
- Produce timely management accounts for the business line
- Enrich GL data and enable automated reporting
- Assess and improve operational processes for scalability
- Review core business controls, reconcile P&L and balance sheets
- Act as intermediary between SSC (Manchester) and London stakeholders
- Support IFRS 15 Revenue accounting and MI enhancements
- Contribute to Group Financial Controls framework
- Prepare and review entity annual financial statements
- Support VAT reconciliations and group reporting
- Manage relationship with external auditors
- Support budgeting process with professional services team
- Contribute to Finance team process improvements
- Engage in performance management and regulatory compliance
- Undertake other duties directed by senior management
Key requirements
- Minimum 2:1 university degree
- Top 15 Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA preferred), 2+ years PQE
- Industry experience in finance, professional services experience advantageous
- Experience managing external Big-4 audits
- Exceptional numeracy and data manipulation skills
- Strong communication skills
- IT literate; proficiency with Excel; knowledge of Sage Intacct beneficial
