Business Analyst

Overview

As a Senior Business Analyst at Softcat’s Internal Technology team, you lead analysis across complex initiatives to shape value-driven outcomes. You’ll translate business needs into well-defined requirements and future-state processes, working with delivery teams to ensure solutions meet strategic objectives. You’ll collaborate with stakeholders, developers, and SMEs to deliver clear, actionable outputs and high-quality analysis. This role supports Softcat’s technology strategy and aims to improve end-to-end experiences for customers and colleagues.

Responsibilities

• Lead business analysis across complex initiatives, aligning scope with strategic objectives
• Elicit and manage end-to-end requirements, ensuring clarity, prioritisation, and traceability
• Shape solution approaches with stakeholders and technical teams balancing user needs and feasibility
• Analyse and optimise end-to-end processes to enhance customer and colleague experience
• Facilitate workshops to drive clarity, alignment and risk resolution
• Build strong stakeholder relationships and act as trusted advisor across business and technology teams
• Ensure high-quality outputs through governance and best practice adherence
• Support delivery through to implementation, including testing and business readiness

Key requirements

• 5+ years of Business Analysis experience, including leadership across complex initiatives
• Autonomy in ambiguous environments and ownership of outcomes
• Strong analytical thinking to convert complex problems into structured approaches
• Proven ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels
• Experience shaping solution direction with technical teams, balancing needs and value
• Understanding of end-to-end delivery lifecycles (Agile, Waterfall or hybrid)
