Overview

As an Associate Director, you will lead end-to-end project controls for large, complex infrastructure programmes in London and the South East. You will establish contract success criteria and implement governance, processes, and systems across the project lifecycle. You’ll coordinate a cross-functional controls team in a matrix environment and manage risk, change control, and cost performance to deliver on time, budget, and quality. This role sits at the heart of shaping delivery for major projects, with a focus on PMO service development and client objectives. Responsibilities

  • Deliver end-to-end project controls services for large, complex projects
  • Establish overall success criteria (time, cost, performance) for contracts
  • Implement governance, processes and systems across the project lifecycle
  • Lead cross-functional project controls inputs in a matrix environment
  • Maintain risk registers and assess risk components and variations
  • Monitor performance using KPIs and apply performance management techniques
  • Manage change control processes and advise on project finances
  • Oversee flow of project information within the team and interface with clients
  • Support centre of expertise in PMO project controls service development
  • Ensure projects meet quality standards, budget and delivery targets
  • Align project controls with client objectives and appointment conditions

Key requirements

  • Relevant technical degree and management qualifications
  • Experience in project control roles for development or delivery of construction projects
  • Experience in planning & scheduling and cost management
  • Experience in risk management, change control information management and reporting within complex projects
  • Knowledge of cost management systems such as Prism and Unifier
  • Ability to manage and mentor a team of specialists
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong working knowledge of Primavera P6
