Overview
As Head of Regulatory Compliance, you will lead UK regulatory advice, assurance and AI governance within a growing fintech platform serving small businesses. You’ll shape how FCA rules, Consumer Duty and financial promotions are applied, while building robust second-line oversight and risk-based monitoring. This role partners with senior stakeholders to translate regulatory change into actionable initiatives and strengthens controls across the business. You’ll drive a pragmatic, fast-paced compliance function that enables responsible growth and responsible AI use.

Responsibilities
- Lead the UK regulatory advice function (FCA rules, Consumer Duty, financial promotions, safeguarding and e-money)
- Oversee horizon scanning and translate regulatory changes into actionable items for the business
- Heads the risk-based risk and compliance monitoring plan (second-line), including thematic reviews and action closure
- Govern AI integration and provide second-line oversight of AI use across the business
- Lead, coach and develop the compliance team and provide business-minded challenge to improve controls
Key requirements
- Strong working knowledge of FCA SYSC, Consumer Duty and EMR/PSR regimes with practical, business-ready outputs
- Hands-on experience running a risk-based compliance monitoring or independent assurance programme in a UK FCA-regulated firm (second-line)
- Experience with AI tooling and deploying AI across Compliance and the wider organisation
- Proven leadership of a compliance team
- Comfort presenting to senior stakeholders and governance forums with evidence-based reporting
- Desirable: FinTech/payments background in FCA-regulated EMI, payments or banking, with fraud, safeguarding or operational resilience exposure
