Process Safety Engineer

Overview

In this role you apply your process safety expertise to support the Duxford site and drive a robust safety culture. You will perform hazard studies, risk assessments and incident investigations, while coordinating across safety and engineering teams to deliver site projects. You’ll contribute to maintaining safety standards and guide improvements through the Process Safety Centre of Excellence. The position offers autonomy and exposure to significant investment projects with a strong safety and ethics focus.

Responsibilities

• Manage process safety activities across the Duxford site
• Support the Zero Harm safety culture with EHS/PSM teams
• Maintain Process Safety Standards, Procedures and Guidelines
• Conduct risk assessments and hazard studies, including new equipment
• Participate in root cause analysis during incident investigations
• Assist in commissioning of engineering projects
• Collaborate with the Process Safety Centre of Excellence to share best practices
• Manage workload to meet business deadlines

Key requirements

• Graduate Engineer qualifications
• 2+ years of process safety experience
• Experience with process safety or related role
• Familiarity with Process Safety Management systems and improvements
• Practical risk assessment and hazard study experience
• Knowledge of change management and risk reduction techniques
• Understanding of failure mechanisms and protection systems design
• Engineering design and optimisation across unit operations
• Strong problem-solving and teamwork abilities
• Good interpersonal and communication skills
