Overview

In this strategic role, you lead Lancashire’s Channel and Prevent initiatives, chair the multi-agency Channel Panel, and ensure governance and delivery of interventions for individuals vulnerable to radicalisation. You will work across safeguarding partnerships and public bodies to strengthen communities and meet statutory duties. You’ll shape preventative approaches, drive performance, and develop high-performing teams in a complex, impact‑driven environment. A key hook is shaping safer, more resilient communities at scale.

Responsibilities

  • Strategic leadership of Prevent and Channel programmes
  • Chairing the multi‑agency Channel Panel
  • Developing innovative prevention and safeguarding approaches
  • Providing expert challenge and assurance to senior leaders

Key requirements

  • Senior leadership experience in safeguarding, community safety, policing, public protection, education, local government or related sector
  • Extensive knowledge of the Prevent Duty, Channel processes and safeguarding legislation
  • Experience chairing complex multi‑agency panels and managing high‑risk decisions
  • Track record of leading change and service improvement
  • Exceptional communication, influencing and stakeholder management
  • Ability to analyse complex risk, intelligence and performance data and translate into action
