Overview
In this Chief Executive role, you will provide strategic direction for Weston Hospicecare, guiding the charity’s mission to deliver outstanding palliative care. You will work with the Board to set priorities, build partnerships, and strengthen sustainability and impact across NHS and voluntary sectors. You will lead organisational development and foster a positive culture where staff and volunteers thrive. This is an opportunity to shape the future of specialist hospice care and ensure services remain accessible to those who need them most. You will act as a strong ambassador for the organisation, balancing compassionate care with financial and strategic stewardship.
Responsibilities
- Provide strategic leadership and overall direction for the organisation
- Build strong partnerships across the NHS, Integrated Care System, local authorities and voluntary sector
- Drive financial sustainability and income growth
- Lead organisational development, change and innovation
- Work with the Board of Trustees to ensure effective governance
- Foster a positive, inclusive and high-performing organisational culture
- Act as a passionate ambassador for Weston Hospicecare and hospice care more broadly
- Ensure the continued delivery of outstanding services for patients and families
Key requirements
- Degree-level qualification or equivalent experience
- Significant leadership experience at Board or CEO/Director level
- Proven track record in strategic leadership, delivery and growth
- Strong financial management and organisational sustainability
- Experience leading organisational change and digital transformation
- Experience working with Boards or Trustees
- Experience building partnerships across complex stakeholder environments
- Desirable: experience in hospice/healthcare/charity sectors; NHS systems exposure; income generation or fundraising; public policy and systems leadership
