Overview

In this role you will handle a high-quality employment caseload within a busy Bristol team, working closely with partners and seniors. You’ll build a foundation in contentious work representing respondents in tribunals, with gradual exposure to advisory matters. The team supports employers across sectors, including corporate transactions, and values collaboration and technology. You will develop professionally through hands-on supervision and AI-enabled tools, with broad exposure across clients and offices. This is a growth-focused opportunity for a newly qualified solicitor to shape a career in employment law.

Responsibilities

• Represent respondents in tribunal claims (contentious emphasis)
• Develop advisory work in employment law over time
• Advise on disciplinaries, grievances, restructurings and redundancies
• Draft documents such as settlement agreements, consultancy agreements and staff handbooks
• Provide employment support on corporate transactions
• Collaborate with partners and senior lawyers across sectors and offices
• Engage with AI tools and participate in technology-led professional development

Key requirements

• Newly qualified solicitor with clear interest in employment law
