Overview
In this role you will manage end-to-end accounting for a diverse roster in the music and entertainment world, ensuring financial accuracy and regulatory compliance. You will work with cross-functional teams to provide insightful financial analysis and support strategic planning. The position focuses on improving processes, handling royalty and licensing income, and guiding audits. This is a hands-on role that drives growth through robust financial controls in a fast-paced, creative environment.

Responsibilities
- Manage end-to-end accounting processes (AP, AR, month-end/year-end close, financial reporting)
- Ensure UK GAAP/HMRC compliance within the music/entertainment sector
- Prepare and review financial statements, management reports, and dashboards
- Provide advisory support on financial planning, budgeting and cost control
- Collaborate with legal and tax teams on royalties, licensing fees, and IP income
- Monitor contract terms, royalty statements, and distribution agreements
- Lead reconciliation of complex revenue streams (streaming, events, sync licensing, merchandise)
- Identify and implement process improvements for efficiency and scalability
- Support audits with documentation and explanations
- Mentor junior team members and share knowledge
Key requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; ACA/ACCA qualification in progress or fully qualified
- Professional accounting experience in music/entertainment/creative industries
- Experience in financial reporting, compliance, and audit support
- Strong understanding of royalty accounting, revenue recognition, and contract compliance
- Proficiency with accounting software (Xero, QuickBooks, Sage) and advanced Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, macros)
- Excellent attention to detail, analytical mindset, ability to manage multiple priorities under deadlines
- Strong communication skills to explain financial concepts to non-financial stakeholders
- Experience with international clients, multi-currency transactions, and cross-border reporting is advantageous
