DIL Test Engineer

Overview

In this role you will own the DIL simulator for Williams F1 Team’s non-F1 programmes, ensuring reliable, high-quality sessions. You’ll plan, configure, and run end-to-end simulator activities with drivers, engineers, and commercial partners. Your work supports Driver Academy, heritage experiences, and commercial initiatives, shaping a trusted, professional client-facing facility. You will also maintain the facility with a proactive, downtime-minimizing approach. This is a hands-on, impact-focused engineering role in a high-performance environment.

Responsibilities

• Operate and execute DIL simulator sessions end-to-end
• Configure vehicle and track models, hardware, and software
• Lead sessions on the day and ensure high session quality
• Maintain the simulator facility and manage its calendar
• Plan and document maintenance, configurations, and data

Key requirements

• Experience operating simulation, real-time control, or complex technical facilities
• Practical mechanical and electrical skills including basic repairs and troubleshooting
• Strong communicator with drivers, engineers, and commercial stakeholders
• Methodical session planning, configuration, and data management
• High standards of documentation of maintenance and tech issues
