Director, Customer Project Execution Onshore UK & Ireland

Overview

In this role you lead the NCE Onshore project delivery for CPX, coordinating a PM team to install, commission, and hand over wind farms. You work closely with customers and stakeholders to ensure safe, cost-efficient delivery and high-quality outcomes. You’ll oversee timelines, budgets, resources, and governance while fostering strong customer relationships. The role sits in Edinburgh with travel to site locations, contributing to Vestas’ sustainable energy mission.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a team of Project Managers to drive high performance
• Oversee regional project execution, ensuring on-time, in-scope, and within-budget delivery
• Maintain close customer relationships and manage escalations for a positive experience
• Standardize project management practices, tools, and processes for consistent delivery
• Monitor performance, identify risks early, and ensure compliance with procedures
• Oversee resource planning, workload distribution, and capability development
• Provide accurate governance and reporting on status, revenue, costs, and margins

Key requirements

• Master’s degree in a relevant discipline
• Significant PM experience in large-scale construction or infrastructure
• Knowledge of project management frameworks, governance, and delivery methodologies; PMP certification or equivalent
• Experience leading multiple initiatives with high-quality results
• Extensive stakeholder management, risk mitigation, and decision-making skills
• Strong negotiation and relationship-building abilities
• Professional proficiency in English (written and spoken)
