HRA Gas Safety Manager

Overview

In this role you will lead gas safety compliance across around 8,000 HRA homes, ensuring statutory obligations are met and processes are in place for a safe, compliant service. You will act as the Council’s lead gas safety expert, providing oversight and assurance across all gas-related activity and external delivery partners. You will maintain client-side control while aligning gas systems with asset strategies and decarbonisation goals. This role sits at the intersection of assets, compliance, and service delivery, with a clear focus on quality and continuous improvement. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to shape a safe, reliable, and future-facing gas safety program.

Responsibilities

• Lead gas safety compliance across the HRA portfolio and ensure statutory obligations are fulfilled
• Develop and maintain systems, processes and controls for safe and compliant gas operations
• Provide oversight, assurance and technical expertise as the Council’s lead gas safety specialist
• Work with delivery partners to ensure safe, effective service delivery and strong client-side accountability
• Retain overall accountability for gas-related activity including externally procured works, commercial systems and leasehold properties
• Maintain consistent standards, compliance and quality across the housing portfolio
• Support wider asset management activities, including capital investment and retrofit, ensuring alignment with asset strategies and decarbonisation objectives
