Project Controls Engineer – Rail

Overview

In this role you contribute to project delivery by collecting progress and cost data to update schedules and cost reports, supporting governance, and producing monthly performance insights. You will work within the project controls team in our infrastructure practice, potentially as the primary contact with the client. The opportunity combines data analysis, reporting, and cross‑disciplinary coordination to help programmes meet baselines and governance standards. Responsibilities

• Collate progress data from multi-discipline teams to update the project/programme schedule in Primavera P6
• Collate cost data from multi-discipline teams to support budget requests and update cost reports
• Prepare monthly reports measuring progress against baseline
• Support the Project Controls Manager in applying governance and assurance of Project Controls processes

Key requirements

• Typically, a qualified graduate in a relevant discipline with some experience in a project control environment
• Proactive, self-starters with well-developed communications and analytical skills
• Experience in a project or programme management environment with responsibility for delivery or controls of projects/programmes/portfolios
• Experience using Primavera (P6), Power BI, and Microsoft Office Applications
• Reliable with the ability to work autonomously and as part of a team
• Strong time management, quick thinking and ability to meet deadlines
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Demonstrated understanding of Project Controls concepts
