Overview

In this role you will lead the project controls for a major rail programme in London, ensuring accurate plans, cost, safety, and performance reporting. You will work with the Programme Controller to establish robust control processes and optimise resource use. You’ll partner with cross-functional teams to keep data quality and planning aligned with GRIP standards, contributing to successful project delivery. This is a hands-on, influential position at the heart of a high-profile rail project.

Responsibilities

  • Establish control processes compliant with GRIP and maintain at territory/project level
  • Review proposals and develop realistic, resourceable delivery plans
  • Identify and secure resourcing requirements with planning units
  • Provide efficient day-to-day reporting to Programme and Project Managers on plans, costs, safety, environment and performance
  • Ensure data input to cost and performance systems meets data standards
  • Manage production of Investment Plan at Territory/Project level as part of Business Planning
  • Comply with the Investment Competence Framework

Key requirements

  • Planning and scheduling functions including schedule development, control, and analysis
  • Strong oral and written communication
  • Proficiency with PC operating systems and basic software
  • Experience with Primavera P6 and Microsoft Office applications
  • Knowledge of engineering, procurement, contracts, construction, and start-up processes
  • Knowledge of engineering and construction management
  • Degree qualified in a construction-related subject
  • Experience in field and home office planning and scheduling
