Overview
As Senior UX Researcher I, you will lead user research efforts to shape understanding of user needs across the submissions workflow. You’ll drive the research strategy for a product line and mentor junior researchers, ensuring insights inform development. You’ll work with cross-functional partners to align user feedback with product decisions, while staying mindful of regulatory context. This role offers the chance to influence how researchers and editors interact with complex publishing tools and advance science and health.

Responsibilities
- Gathers and analyzes customer use cases to guide product decisions
- Maintains close links with cross-functional partners to feed user feedback into development
- Aligns and coaches the team to meet customer needs
- Shares research findings across the organization
- Understands competitors and the regulatory environment
- Segments markets and deepens understanding of sub-segments
- Leads the user-centered research process and mentors juniors
- Applies multiple UX Research techniques
- Creates research documentation and analysis outputs
Key requirements
- Ability to design research for different contexts
- Comfort with technical products of high complexity
- Experience researching in remote, in-person, unmoderated and moderated contexts
- Strong knowledge of the organization’s tech stack
- Mentors junior researchers in technical skills
- Expert use of research software (Qualtics, Lookback, UserTesting.com)
