Overview
In this Data Governance Lead role, you will own and evolve the firm’s governance framework to align with data and AI strategies, regulatory obligations and target architecture. You will drive governance forums, track maturity and risk, and report to senior stakeholders. You will map data domains and critical data assets with clear ownership, supporting data owners on quality, access, metadata and issue resolution. You will define and monitor data quality standards and controls, embed governance into platform design with Architecture, Platform Engineering and Information Security, and support AI data readiness through standards and literacy programs. This is a hybrid London-based opportunity,

Responsibilities
- Own and evolve Data Governance Framework aligned with Data/AI Strategies and regulatory obligations
- Lead data governance forums; drive actions to completion and report governance metrics to senior stakeholders
- Maintain registers of Data Domains and Critical Data Assets with clear accountability (Sponsors/Owners)
- Collaborate with business teams to manage data quality, access controls, metadata, and issue remediation
- Define and monitor data quality standards, metrics, rules, targets and reporting; oversee material data issue resolutions
- Develop and maintain governance policies and guidelines; ensure controls are proportionate and automated where possible
- Partner with Architecture, Platform Engineering and Information Security to embed governance into platform design
- Support AI data readiness with standards for data quality, completeness and lineage; promote data literacy and ownership through training
Key requirements
- Significant experience in data governance, management or risk within Asset Management
- Experience implementing data governance frameworks
- Strong understanding of investment, client, operational, regulatory and enterprise data
- Experience establishing data ownership, stewardship models, domain registers and critical data inventories
- Experience defining data quality standards and driving remediation
- Policy development for data governance controls and stakeholder approval
- Hands-on experience with data governance tools (catalogues, glossaries, lineage, data quality platforms)
- Knowledge of data protection and financial services regulations relevant to global asset management
- Experience supporting senior governance forums and producing management reporting
- Excellent communication, facilitation and influencing skills with senior stakeholders
