Overview
As an Assistant Project Manager, you will help deliver high-profile defense projects across the UK. You’ll support client objectives, time-cost-quality targets, and governance through NEC4 contracts and project documentation. You’ll work within multidisciplinary teams to drive controls, risk, and performance reporting while nurturing stakeholder relationships. Responsibilities
- Support delivery of projects and programmes across varying sizes and complexity
- Assist teams to meet time, cost and quality objectives
- Administer NEC4 and other contracts under senior guidance
- Contribute sector knowledge across defence, infrastructure and construction
- Develop project documentation such as business cases, plans, reports and governance materials
- Support project controls activities including programme management, risk, cost monitoring and reporting
- Build positive relationships with clients, contractors, consultants and stakeholders
- Apply project management tools and methodologies to achieve outcomes
- Contribute to team collaboration and continuous improvement across projects
Key requirements
- Experience with UK Government and defence sector is advantageous
- Experience supporting project lifecycles from initiation to close
- Understanding of procurement processes and NEC contracts
- Experience coordinating contractors and advisors on infrastructure projects
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
- Proactive and organized approach with issue identification and problem solving
- Ability to work in multidisciplinary teams and with internal/external stakeholders
- Strong organizational and administrative skills for managing multiple tasks and deadlines
- Competence in project controls, reporting, risk management, scheduling and documentation
