Overview
As Security Engineering Manager, you lead a global team protecting cloud-native environments, CI/CD pipelines, and production infrastructure. You provide strategic direction, mentorship, and operational excellence while aligning with modern multi-cloud tech (AWS, Azure, GCP) and secure-by-design practices. You partner with software, DevOps, and product teams to embed security into developer workflows, scale vulnerability programs, and influence product roadmaps. This role offers impact at scale in a fast-growing security startup backed by Google. You help shape secure cloud platforms that empower rapid, safe innovation.
Responsibilities
- Lead and grow a globally distributed Security Engineering team
- Define technical strategy and architecture for multi-cloud security
- Drive security automation, policy-as-code, and CI/CD integrations
- Govern container & infrastructure hardening across EKS, GKE, AKS
- Oversee vulnerability management and supply chain security
- Coordinate with Detection & Incident Response to scale alerting and remediation
- Foster cross-functional partnerships with Engineering and DevOps leadership
Key requirements
- 2+ years of leadership/mentoring experience in security engineering, DevOps, or cloud infrastructure teams
- 7+ years of security engineering/operations in cloud-native environments
- Strong hands-on security in AWS; working knowledge of Azure or GCP
- Deep Kubernetes and container security knowledge (EKS/GKE/AKS)
- In-depth cloud IAM understanding at enterprise scale
- Hands-on IaC experience (Terraform, CloudFormation, Helm, Pulumi) and scripting (Python, Go, Shell)
