Overview
In this role, you will ensure integrated security across physical and electronic systems on a major rail programme. You’ll coordinate interfaces between contractors and packages to deliver a coherent, assured security solution for stations, depots and infrastructure. You’ll work within a structured design and engineering framework, handling interface documentation, risk management and formal change processes. This is a hands-on, multi-disciplinary coordinating position that shapes how security systems work together on HS2. Hybrid working and location in Birmingham or London offer a balance of site exposure and office collaboration.

Responsibilities
- Manage formal interfaces between contractors, disciplines and work packages
- Review contractor designs and deliverables and provide engineering assurance
- Coordinate technical queries, interface documents and change control processes
- Assess and escalate project or technical risks with impact and likelihood
- Translate technical issues for non-technical stakeholders (PMs, commercial teams)
- Support integration of Access Control, CCTV, IDS, VMS and other security systems into the programme
- Maintain interface control documentation and ensure alignment with project processes
- Work with cross-functional teams to ensure security systems integrate into wider infrastructure
Key requirements
- Strong experience with physical and electronic security systems (Access Control, CCTV, Intruder Detection)
- Senior Security Consultant or Senior Security Systems Engineer level
- Proven formal interface management experience on large projects
- Experience producing or contributing to interface documentation and interface control
- Structured design and engineering management experience
- Experience identifying, recording, assessing and escalating risks; change control
- Ability to communicate technical issues to non-technical stakeholders
- Understanding of security systems standards and how they interface with other infrastructure
- Experience from major infrastructure, construction, transport, utilities, or similarly complex programmes
