Overview
As a Clinical Research Physician in Parexel’s EPCU London, you provide medical oversight for early-phase trials, safeguarding participant safety and data integrity while ensuring regulatory compliance. You collaborate with cross-functional teams to act as a Clinical Investigator and deliver high-quality research under ICH-GCP. You conduct pre-study assessments, oversee safety monitoring, and support emergency response when needed. This role offers impact in shaping early therapies and advancing patient care through rigorous clinical research.
Responsibilities
- Serve as Clinical Investigator ensuring participant safety, data integrity, and ICH-GCP compliance
- Provide medical oversight for studies of investigational and marketed products within the EPCU
- Conduct pre-study medical assessments and determine volunteer suitability
- Ensure informed consent is obtained prior to participation
- Review and interpret clinical data including vital signs, ECGs, labs, adverse events
- Participate in on-call medical support outside standard hours
- Maintain ALS proficiency and respond to medical emergencies
- Assist with administration of investigational medicinal products as required
- Monitor and manage adverse events and safety findings
- Prepare and present safety information at study and safety review meetings
- Perform study-specific clinical procedures and assessments
Key requirements
- Post-graduate clinical experience
- Understanding of ICH-GCP principles
- Interest in acting as Sub-Investigator on early-phase studies
- Experience in clinical research or pharmaceutical medicine advantageous
- GMC registration and Licence to Practise
- Current ALS certification
- Interest in Clinical Pharmacology and Pharmaceutical Medicine with willingness for postgraduate study
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication
- Patient- and client-focused approach
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
