Head of OT & ICS Security Testing

Overview

In this role, you will lead LRQA’s OT and ICS security testing service line, guiding live-environment assessments and safety-first testing across energy, utilities, manufacturing, maritime and process sectors. You’ll build lab capabilities, align testing with IEC 62443 and regulatory standards, and scale the offering into a differentiated, profitable cross-sell within LRQA Cyber. You will lead a team of security professionals, contribute to technical sales, and ensure high-quality delivery and safety. This is a global, billable leadership role with international travel and a strong emphasis on sustainability, risk reduction and capability development.

Responsibilities

• Own the OT and ICS testing proposition, methodology and safety-first standards for live plant environments
• Align the service line to IEC 62443, NIS2 and sector regulation; build lab, tooling and reference environments for safe testing
• Act as a technical sales lead: shape scope with clients, support bids, present to technical and executive buyers
• Lead, develop and retain pod leads and consultants; define technical direction, career paths and certification plans under the 5x5x5 model
• Deliver personally on client engagements to maintain hands-on credibility and meet utilisation targets
• Drive AI-enabled support to increase coverage and quality while protecting confidentiality and safety
• Coordinate with peer Heads to keep consultants fungible across service lines and enable pooled resourcing
• Health & safety: manage risk registers, apply controls, ensure safe planning and execution, monitor performance and implement improvements

Key requirements

• Substantial hands-on OT and ICS security assessment experience in live environments with a safety-first approach
• Working knowledge of IEC 62443 and industrial protocols and architectures
• Recognised certification such as GICSP, GRID, IEC 62443 or equivalent
• Experience leading technical teams and supporting sales in OT/ICS environments
