Overview

In this role you design, develop, and troubleshoot software within the Athena Trade & Risk Services team to deliver secure, scalable solutions. You work in an agile environment, collaborating to improve and deliver components of a state-of-the-art technology product. You leverage AI-assisted development tools to boost quality and speed, while upholding secure coding standards. This position supports your growth as you gain experience across the software lifecycle and in a large corporate setting.

Responsibilities

  • Execute standard software solution design, development, and troubleshooting
  • Write secure, high-quality code in at least one language with limited guidance
  • Use enterprise-authorized AI coding assist tools to improve quality, speed, and productivity with peer review and testing
  • Design, develop, code, and troubleshoot with awareness of upstream/downstream systems
  • Utilize SDLC tools and AI-assisted development to enhance automation value
  • Perform technical troubleshooting for basic complex problems
  • Analyze large data sets to identify issues and support decision-making in secure, stable development
  • Learn and apply system processes and secure, stable coding practices

Key requirements

  • Formal training or certification in software engineering, computer science, or related field
  • Hands-on experience in system design, application development, testing, and operational stability
  • Experience coding in one or more modern languages and database querying languages in a large corporate environment
  • Experience with enterprise-authorized AI-assisted development tools and ability to evaluate AI outputs
  • Understanding of responsible AI use in engineering workflows, data sensitivity, and security expectations
  • Experience across the full Software Development Life Cycle
  • Exposure to agile practices such as CI/CD, Application Resiliency, and Security
  • One or more modern programming languages
  • Database querying languages
  • Enterprise-authorized AI-assisted development tools
  • Secure coding practices
  • Experience with CI/CD and Agile practices
  • Software Development Life Cycle tooling
