Financial Controller

Overview

In this role you shape the group’s finance function with a clear path to Finance Director. You’ll partner with senior leaders across seven businesses to drive performance, governance and strategic insight. You will own monthly and statutory reporting while leading budgeting, forecasting and cash flow, and you will progressively take on broader commercial and strategic responsibilities. The opportunity combines an established platform with a credible succession plan, supported by an experienced Finance Director.

Responsibilities

• Own monthly and statutory reporting across the Group
• Lead budgeting, forecasting and cash flow management
• Develop commercial reporting, KPIs and management information
• Improve financial systems, controls and processes
• Collaborate with operational leaders across seven businesses to drive performance
• Lead, develop and manage the finance team
• Engage with the Group’s strategic agenda as progression to Finance Director occurs

Key requirements

• Qualified ACA, ACCA or CIMA
• Currently operating as a Financial Controller or similar in manufacturing, engineering, construction or other operationally complex environments
• Technically strong with strong commercial acumen
• Comfortable with detail while maintaining sight of the bigger picture
• Confident in influencing senior leaders across a diverse business group
• Ambitious to become a Finance Director
• Exposure to M&A, acquisitions or post-deal integration is beneficial
