Overview

As Commission Manager you will own end-to-end cost management delivery for client commissions, shaping cost strategy and reporting. You’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure objectives are met while leveraging bespoke digital tools to drive value. The role supports the NewLeaf agenda and sustainability-focused initiatives, delivering accurate cost controls and evidence-based decisions. This is a hands-on, client-facing position that combines technical cost management with leadership of a small team when needed.

Responsibilities

  • Managing commissions and feasibility work, cost planning and presenting final cost plans
  • Tendering and procurement activities, including pre-qualifications, tender analysis and contract documentation
  • Contract administration, handling post-contract variances and change control
  • Cost checks, valuations, and timely, accurate cost reporting using The Hive tools
  • Inputting into value engineering and negotiating final accounts
  • Client liaison and collaboration with project managers and consultants at all stages
  • Leading a cost management team where applicable and mentoring junior staff
  • Utilising The Hive suite (Benchmarking App, CostX, Market Rates App, eTender Platform, Cost Control App) and Embodied Carbon Calculator for reporting and carbon footprint
  • Supporting marketing, business development and bid activity with opportunities for existing clients
  • Internal process improvement and knowledge management to capture learnings from commissions
  • Ensuring alignment with the NewLeaf strategy and internal cost management procedures

Key requirements

  • Experience in cost management and project commissions
  • Ability to work autonomously, deliver under tight deadlines and manage workloads
  • Chartered status in progress or recently achieved
