Job Description:

ARM is recruiting for an Electrical Project Engineer to join a leading international energy solutions business supporting high-voltage electrical equipment projects across the UK. This role suits an electrical engineer with experience in power transformers, shunt reactors or similar HV equipment, taking responsibility for technical coordination, project delivery and customer engagement. You will act as a key technical interface between UK customers, engineering teams and international manufacturing facilities, ensuring projects meet technical and customer requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate planning and execution of electrical engineering projects.
  • Monitor project milestones, technical deliverables and engineering progress.
  • Manage technical risks, issues and engineering changes.
  • Act as the technical interface between customers and engineering/manufacturing teams.
  • Translate customer specifications into clear engineering requirements.
  • Review designs for compliance with project specifications, standards and manufacturability.
  • Lead or support Design Review Meetings (DRMs) with customers.
  • Review GA drawings, electrical and insulation design, losses, impedance and thermal performance.
  • Identify design gaps and coordinate technical resolutions.
  • Provide first-line technical support to UK customers.
  • Review engineering drawings, reports and technical documentation.
  • Support RFIs, technical queries, design deviations and technical negotiations.
  • Ensure projects comply with relevant UK, BS, EN and IEC standards.
  • Provide technical input into tenders, bids, customer meetings and presentations.
  • Work collaboratively with sales, engineering, project management and overseas manufacturing teams.
  • Contribute to developing local engineering capability and sharing technical knowledge.
  • Maintain awareness of developments within the HV power and energy sector.

Requirements

  • A degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Experience working with high-voltage electrical equipment, ideally power transformers, shunt reactors or similar equipment.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical engineering principles, design and applicable standards.
  • Previous experience in project engineering or technical coordination.
  • Experience reviewing engineering drawings and technical documentation.
  • Strong customer-facing and stakeholder management skills.
  • Excellent communication and technical problem-solving abilities.
  • The ability to work effectively across international and cross-functional teams.
