Senior Project Engineer

Via East Midlands are currently seeking a Senior Project Engineer to join our Preconstruction team based out of our Trent Bridge House Office.

Preconstruction focuses on designing roads, improving transport, and driving sustainable solutions—we’re shaping the future of Nottinghamshire’s highways to create a safer, more connected community for everyone.

Some of the key responsibilities of the role include:

  • Lead designanddeliverhighway and civil engineering projects ranging invalueand complexityincluding highway geometric alignment, pavement, and drainage design,specificationand contract documentationto achieve quality, programme and financial targets meeting customer and stakeholder requirements.
  • Provide specialist design, technical and cost advice to colleagues,clientsor external bodiesto include checking and approval to relevant standardsto support delivery of complex and large-scale projects across the organisation
  • Collaborate with Via’s Construction and Commercial Division and ensure adherence toHealth and Safety management systems.

We are seeking:

  • Degree in Civil Engineering or a related subjectandpost qualificationrelevantexperience or equivalent knowledge gained through practical experience in a highway and/or civil engineering design environment.
  • Chartered or Incorporated Engineeror Engineering Technicianand Member of a Professional Institution (relevant discipline)or working towards with adevelopment plan to gain chartershipor equivalent skills, knowledge and experiencedemonstratedby CDP record
  • Extensive working knowledge of current highwaydesign and civil engineeringstandards, contracts,andcurrentConstruction Design Management (CDM) Regulations.
  • Experience ofmanaging project budgets and financial reporting of project programme.
  • Experience of all stages of project implementation from feasibility to construction on site.
