About the Role
Our client is looking for an enthusiastic Junior Civil Engineer to join their Municipal Infrastructure team in East London . This role focuses on supporting the design, planning, and implementation of essential public works projects, including water supply, sanitation, and road infrastructure. You will work under the guidance of senior engineers, gaining practical experience in project execution and contributing to the development of local communities. This is an excellent entry-level opportunity for a recent graduate passionate about making a tangible difference through civil engineering within a dedicated municipal services provider.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the design and development of municipal infrastructure projects such as water reticulation, sewer networks, and roads.
- Prepare technical drawings, calculations, and reports under the supervision of senior engineers.
- Support the site supervision and quality control of construction activities for municipal works.
- Conduct site investigations and data collection for project planning and assessment.
- Liaise with internal departments, external consultants, and contractors as required.
- Help maintain project documentation and records for municipal infrastructure schemes.
Requirements
- BEng or BSc in Civil Engineering from a recognized institution.
- Strong academic foundation in municipal infrastructure design principles.
- 0-2 years of post-graduate experience; a strong internship or vacation work record is highly regarded.
- Familiarity with AutoCAD and relevant municipal design standards is an advantage.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Eagerness to learn and contribute to public infrastructure development.
