Camphill Community Glencraig is currently recruiting for the following vacancy:

Deputy Maintenance and Facilities Manager

(26/51/DFM/WEB)

The Deputy Maintenance and Facilities Manager is responsible for the management, safety, and compliance of the organisations physical environment, ensuring facilities are functional, compliant, and fit for purpose.

The post holder supports day to day facilities operations and deputises for the Facilities Manager as required, including line management of a small maintenance team. The role also involves participation in the on call system to maintain safe and efficient operations.

Salary: £38,653 – £43,157 per annum

£50 on call retainer (potential up to £6900 per annum)

Hours of Work:37.5 hrs per week Monday to Friday, 8.30am to 4.30pm

Length of Contract:Permanent

Essential Criteria:

Either:

  • HND, Foundation Degree or Level 5 qualification in Facilities Management, Building Services, Construction, Engineering, Property Maintenance or Estates Management

AND

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience supervising maintenance, estates, construction, engineering or facilities services

OR

  • Recognised trade qualification/apprenticeship in Electrical, Plumbing, Joinery, Mechanical, Building Services or a related discipline

AND

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in a building, maintenance, construction, engineering or related trade environment

AS WELL AS

  • NEBOSH General Certificate or equivalent or be will to work and achieve within 6 months of starting role.

  • Experience of planned and reactive maintenance delivery
  • Experience supervising maintenance staff, trade personnel and/or contractors
  • Experience of health and safety compliance.
  • Experience allocating work, monitoring completion and maintaining records
  • Evidence of continuing professional development
  • Practical knowledge of building maintenance and repair
  • Knowledge of mechanical and electrical building systems.
  • Practical understanding of building fabric, mechanical and electrical services.
  • Knowledge of statutory inspections and compliance requirements.
  • Understanding of permit-to-work systems.
  • Experience using CAFM or maintenance management software.
  • Ability to review contractor performance and service delivery.
  • Knowledge of CDM Regulations and contractor management.
  • Strong organisational and problem-solving skills.
  • Good report-writing and communication skills.
  • Competent user of Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to prioritise multiple maintenance demands across a busy site.
  • Ability to work in various environments, including office settings, residential/school/ day care facilities, and outdoor areas.
  • Current driving licence and access to a car for business use.
  • Required to be on an on-call rota.
  • Ability to meet travel requirements.
  • Available to work occasional evenings and weekends.
