Camphill Community Glencraig is currently recruiting for the following vacancy:

Health and Safety Manager (26/50/HSM/WEB)

The Health and Safety Manager is responsible for leading the organisations health and safety function. This includes developing, implementing, monitoring and continuously improving the health and safety framework; ensuring compliance with legislation and regulatory requirements; reducing organisational risk; and promoting a strong safety culture across all operations. The postholder will also support continuity of facilities oversight by deputising for the Facilities Manager when required and within agreed authority levels.

The role forms part of the organisations management function and works closely with the Facilities Manager, senior managers and operational leads to ensure that health, safety and facilities-related risks are identified, managed and escalated appropriately. When the Facilities Manager is absent, the postholder will provide agreed operational cover for contractor liaison, compliance monitoring and urgent facilities decisions. Strategic facilities responsibility, budget authority and line-management accountability will remain within the organisations established management arrangements unless formally delegated.

Salary: £41,225 – £43,030 per annum

£50 on call retainer

(potential up to £6900 per annum)

Hours of Work:40 hours per week Monday to Friday, 8.30am to 5.00pm

Length of Contract:Permanent

Essential Criteria:

  • Bachelors degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, Facilities Management, or a related field E.G. NEBOSH Diploma
  • Evidence of continuing professional development
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in health and safety management and facilities management.
  • Minimum of 3 years experience in managing maintenance services
  • Experience of leading a staff team.
  • Strong Knowledge of Health and Safety regulations and best practice.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities
  • Ability to produce board reports, business cases and presentations.
  • Commitment to highest standards in Health and Safety.
  • Excellent Communication and Interpersonal Skills.
  • Advanced Leadership and management skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and facility management software.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Knowledge of CDM (Construction Design and Management) regulations and their application in facilities projects.
  • Ability to work in various environments, including office settings, residential/school/ day care facilities, and outdoor areas
