The role involves providing full-time cover within a busy teaching hospital, working as part of a consultant-led team to deliver inpatient orthopaedic care, trauma cover, and on-call support.

Key Responsibilities

• Attend daily consultant-led ward rounds and deliver comprehensive orthopaedic inpatient care, including pre- and post-operative management
• Maintain accurate, timely patient notes and arrange, review, and document investigations, discussing results promptly with the supervising consultant
• Respond efficiently to pager bleeps and support the team with unforeseen clinical emergencies
• Receive, triage, and assess acute orthopaedic referrals from A&E and occasionally from GPs
• Perform focused orthopaedic examinations and contribute to trauma assessments as part of the 1-in-7 on-call rota, including weekend cover
